The Tarbat Ness Lighthouse
Posted by Emily White - 13:25 on 31 January 2011
We had a rare free afternoon on Saturday so we set off in the car on a little adventure further East. The Tarbat Peninsula is the most Eastern point of the North of Scotland and is a scenic hours drive from Kiltearn House. At its tip stands the Tarbat Lighthouse, the third tallest in Scotland. Built by Robert Stevenson around 1830, the lighthouse is certainly looking well for its age!
The lighthouse is privately owned and so you can't actually go in, however you can get right up close and walk around the coast. You might even spot a dolphin or seal!
